The days prior to the flight usually involve a few goodbye play-dates, chores and a lot of wrapping. I am delighted to report that Miss G has been mostly a good Little Elf and has accompanied me in a few shopping trips and in the related coffee breaks. She is now a pro at ordering her babycino the moment we enter a coffee shop...oh dear!
Whilst I spent Friday morning packing and Mr H spent it recovering from an all-nighter session, Little Miss G went to her creche for one last play of the year. She was so proud to come home with her little artefacts and a handmade and very shimmery card! It was genuinely sweet to see her joy when showing me her work. A post prandial nap later and we were off to Heathrow in the usual nightmare that is flying anywhere before Christmas, but we eventually made it onto the plane, Italy bound. Arrivederci London.
In Italy we were luckily greeted by sunny weather, so we took the little Miss to explore whenever we could get her out of my mother's arms. As Miss G's birthday was in October and my mum had not seen since before then, Little G was greeted by tons of birthday presents filling her with joy and me with dread at the thought of packing our suitcases for the way back. Luckily Mr H and I have packed lightly.
Waiting for some hundreds more presents to come, I'd like to take this chance and wish everyone a Merry Christmas or Buon Natale as we say it here. Ciao.
